:2:

 

1)  ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR PROFESSOR (MEDICAL)  

   

i)  A Medical qualification included in the I or II Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II or third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act.)

 

ii)  A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD or MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline or subject.  And/ Or

 

   iii) M.Ch. for surgical super specialties and D.M. for Medical Super specialties (two   Years or three years or five years recognized course) or qualification recognized   equivalent thereto.

 

Experience:

          Fourteen years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD or MS or qualification recognized equivalent thereto;         

(OR)

      

 

        Twelve years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch. or D.M.(two years or five years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline or subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.  

 

(OR)

 

         Eleven years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty for the candidates possessing three years recognized degree of D.M. or M.Ch. in the respective discipline or subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.        

ESSENTIAL FOR NON-MEDICAL CANDIDATES:

 

1.      Postgraduate qualification, e.g. Masters degree in the discipline or allied subject.

2.      A doctorate degree of a recognized University.

 

Experience:

 

   Fourteen years teaching and, or research experience in the discipline or subject concerned after obtaining the doctorate degree.  

 

Note:    In case candidates with required experience is not available the post of Professor will be operated at the level of Additional Professor in the scale of pay of PB-4, 37400-67000+9500 Academic Grade Pay with a minimum of Rs.46,000/-

II.  ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR  ASST. PROFESSOR

 

  Essential qualifications are same as for Professor (Medical)

 

EXPERIENCE:

       

            Three years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D or M.S. or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FOR SUPERSPECIALITY DISCIPLINES:

 

1.   Same as Professor (Medical)

 

2.  D.M.  in the respective discipline or subject for medical Superspecialties and M.Ch. in the respective discipline or subject for surgical superspecialties (two years or three years or five years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

        One year teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M. or M.Ch. (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) or a qualifying recognized equivalent thereto.  However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the three years recognized degree of D.M. or  M.Ch. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto. 

 

ESSENTIAL FOR NON-MEDICAL CANDIDATES:

 

   Essential qualifications are same as for Professor (Non-Medical)

 

Experience:

 

   Three years teaching and, or research experience in the discipline or subject concerned after obtaining the doctorate degree.

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS:-

 

1. The Upper age limit for all the posts as detailed below:

 

a) Professor  (Medical)                                                       - 50 years

b) Assistant Professor (Medical)                                         - 50 years

 

(Relaxable by 5 years for Government Servant as per  Central Government Rules)

 

Note: Relaxable by five years in case of post reserved for SC /ST candidates and three years for the post reserved for OBC candidate as per rules of the Govt. of India.

 

2. Age limit and experience will be counted as on last date of receipt of application i.e. 09.12.2010.

3. Applicants already in employment in Govt./Semi-Govt./Corporate Bodies should route their applications through their employers.  Applications received directly shall not be entertained.

 

4. Application for any post shall be on the prescribed proforma and shall be accompanied by certified copies of educational qualification and experience, date of Birth Certificate and other documents, duly attested by a Gazzetted Officer.

 

5. Separate application for each post is required to be submitted.

 

6. The Institute reserves the right to withdraw or add any post before final selection.

 

7. Application incomplete in any respect or received after due date i.e. 09.12.2010 or without application fee will be summarily rejected.  JIPMER will not be responsible for any postal delay and no correspondence will be entertained.

 

8. Selection for the above posts will be held by conducting an  interview for which date will be intimated only to the eligible candidates in due course.

 

9. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview.

 

10. The Demand Draft of Rs.500/-(Rs.250/-for SC/ST Candidates) drawn in favour of the Accounts Officer, JIPMER, Puducherry  payable at SBI JIPMER Branch,  Puducherry-6 as non-refundable fee.

 

11. A soft copy of the application including the brief of the candidate should also be sent in the CD along with the application.

 

12. He/She should send the latest OBC Certificate for appointment to the post in the Central Government format prescribed by the Government of India. In case he/she does not get the OBC Certificate before the closing date he/she should produce the same on or before the interview failing which he/she will not be considered under the OBC category.

 

13. Those candidates who have applied for the post of Professor in response to the earlier advertisement No.Estt.1(13)/2009 appeared on 02.07.2009 and 18.07.2009 need not  apply again.

 

14. No. of Posts to be filled up will be solely at the discretion of the competent authority.
