Advertisement: Vacancies for
8 positions of Research Fellows
The Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), an institution
of national importance incorporated under the Indian
Parliament’s ICWA Act 2001, invites applications
for eight positions of Research Fellows on a contract
basis for research work in international affairs. Persons
of Indian origin holding PIO/OCI cards are eligible.
Qualifications
and experience required: Candidates having
the following educational qualifications and experience
may apply:
-A consistently good academic record with a Masters
Degree in the field of international relations/political
science and PhD from a recognized university.
-Expertise in politico-economic and security issues
on any of the following countries:
Pakistan and Afghanistan, China, Iran, Myanmar, Sri
Lanka and Maldives, Russia,
Sub-Saharan Africa, United States
For two positions of Research Fellows dealing
exclusively with economic and financial issues:
Proven expertise on international economic and financial
issues (together with other requirements contained herein).
-A strong analytical background with a minimum of 5
years of research/teaching experience in the field of
international relations
-At least two referred publications of international
standard in the area of specialization
-Ability to function as a team member and proven experience
in conference/seminar facilitation
-Command over the English language, and excellent oral
and written skills
-Maximum age: 45 years as on April 1, 2010
Short listed candidates will be invited for interview
and are expected to write a short essay in English.
The subject of the essay will be announced at the venue.
The contractual term of Research Fellows in the Council
would be for a period of two years with a probation
period of three months. The monthly emoluments will
be Rs.34,462/- plus Rs.3700/- (Transport Allowance)
& Rs.10,338/- (HRA)
No other allowances/facilities would be admissible except
TA/DA for official tours at the rates admissible to
Group-A Officers of the Central Government.
Successful Research Fellows will be required to also
help organize and participate in conferences/lectures
organized by the ICWA.
