Eligibility
- BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/PhD in Electronics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Microwave, Radar systems with consistent good academic performance with a minimum of First Class and an aggregate of 60% (6.75 CGPA) in UG and PG.
- Experience :
- 5 years after obtaining B.E/B.Tech degree
- 4 years after obtaining M.E/M.Tech degree
- Preferred :
- Knowledge in the field of Electromagnetics and Antenna, Communication systems, Signal Processing and Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility
- Pay band : Rs.15600-39100 with Grade pay Rs.6600/- (Gross : Rs.46,148/- at Chennai)
- Age Limit as on 1st August 2010: 35 years (40 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 38 years for OBC candidates)
2. Post : Scientist – B (Electronics & Communication) - 8 Posts Code : SBL08
Eligibility
- Consistent good academic performance with a minimum of First Class B.E/B.Tech or equivalent and 60% marks (6.75 CGPA) in each Semester/Year of B.E/B.Tech or equivalent.
- Candidates who are slated to complete the BE/B.Tech course in the academic year 2009-10 are also eligible to apply, provided final Degree in First Class, as per the above referred eligibility is available by 1st September 2010.
- Pay band : Rs.15600-39100 with Grade pay Rs.5400/- (Gross : Rs.38,970/- at Chennai)
- Age Limit as on 1st August 2010: 35 years ( 40 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 38 years for OBC candidates)

Eligibility
- Consistent good academic performance with a minimum of First Class B.E/B.Tech or equivalent and 60% marks (6.75 CGPA) in each Semester/Year of B.E/B.Tech or equivalent. M.E/M.Tech in Thermal stream is preferred.
- Candidates who are slated to complete the BE/B.Tech course in the academic year 2009-10 are also eligible to apply provided final Degree in First Class, as per the above referred eligibility is available by 1st September 2010
- Pay band : Rs.15600-39100 with Grade pay Rs.5400/- (Gross : Rs.38,970/-)
- Age Limit as on 1st August 2010: 35 years (40 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 38 years for OBC candidates)
How to apply
Scientist – C - Candidates applying for the post of Scientist – C may visit our web site http://www.cem-rec10-sameer.in/ to download Application from , which shall be sent by registered post OR speed post to Programme Director, SAMEER - CENTRE FOR ELECTROMAGNETICS, 2nd Cross Road, CIT Campus, Taramani, Chennai-600113 on or before 1st September 2010 with all necessary enclosures. Copies of testimonials / Certificates shall be duly attested by Class I / Group A Gazetted Officer of State/Central Govt. Candidates shall super scribe on their envelope "Application for the post of Scientist – C".
Scientist – B - Only on line registration is acceptable. The last date for on line registration is 1st September 2010. There is no Fee for on line registration. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. E-mail ID of the applicant will have to be given in the Application compulsorily.
- The online registered applicants will be short listed for undertaking the Written Test. The candidates shortlisted for the written Test will be intimated by e-mail only. Hence applicants are requested to check their e-mail. Candidates shortlisted for the Written Test will be required to submit an application form which has to be downloaded from the website. The application with all the enclosures, namely attested copies of all testimonials, degree certificates, caste certificates etc. should be sent by registered post OR speed post to Programme Director, SAMEER - CENTRE FOR ELECTROMAGNETICS, 2nd Cross Road, CIT Campus, Taramani, Chennai-600113 on or before 17th September 2010. Candidates shall super scribe on their envelope “Application for the post of Scientist – B” with their respective code SBL08 or SBM03.
- Candidates short listed for Written Test will have to remit the Application Fee of Rs.400/-, along with their Application by crossed Demand Draft from any nationalized bank in favour of “SAMEER-Center for Electromagnetics”, dated after 1st September 2010 payable at Chennai. Applicant should write his/her Full Name, Post Number and Registration No. on the reverse of the DD.
- Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Women candidates are exempted from the Application Fee. However, SC/ST candidates will have to send along with their application a copy of the Caste Certificate duly attested by Class I / Group A Gazetted Officer of state / Central Govt. Applications of candidates claiming SC/ST status and therefore exemption from Application Fee will be considered only if the duly attested Caste Certificate is furnished.
- Those already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies, should furnish `No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned and the same should be sent with their application . Applicant should write his/her Full Name, Post Number and on line Registration No. on the reverse of the `No Objection Certificate'
- The Written Test and interview will be conducted at Chennai. The venue, date of written test and interview will be intimated to the candidates by mail, candidates are advised to check their mail box. Candidates who qualify the Written Test will only be eligible for the Personal Interview.
Selection process
Scientist – C - Short listed candidates will be called for Written Test / Interview. PhD’s are exempted from the written test. Candidates attending the Interview will be reimbursed to and fro First-class / AC 3-Tier train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of Interview. The posts are for the current projects at SAMEER, Chennai.
Scientist – B - The qualification prescribed for the post is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for Written Test. Based on bio-data, initial screening will be conducted to short-list candidates for taking-up written test.
- Selection process will consist of Written Test and Personal Interview. All eligible candidates will be invited for written test at their own expense. The Written Test papers will be objective type in nature and will be in English.
- The hall ticket for the Written Test will be sent by e-mail to the eligible candidates. The candidates will need to take a hard copy/print-out and affix recent passport size photograph which necessarily should be attested by a Class-I/Group-A Gazetted Officer of Central/State Government. Candidates will be permitted to undertake the Written Test only with the photograph attested as mentioned above. Hall ticket need to be surrender along with test answer sheet. On failure to do so, Candidate test exam became invalid.
- Candidates undertaking the Written Test will be required to submit an application form which has to be downloaded from the website.
- The Written Test will be conducted at Chennai. However SAMEER reserves the right to include any new location/s of Test Centre/s, if found necessary.
- Candidates presently employed in Central/ State Government, Autonomous bodies, PSUs may apply through ‘Proper Channel’ or submit ‘No-Objection Certificate’ from their employer with their application.
- Preference will be given to candidates having experience in the relevant areas.
- Candidates short-listed based on the performance in the Written Test, academic performance and bio-data will be eligible for the Personal Interview.
- Candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class sleeper (Non-AC) train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the application to the place of interview.

In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria and/or does not comply with other requirements and/or he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature is liable to be rejected. If any of the above shortcomings is/are detected, even after appointment, his/her services are liable to be terminated without any notice.
- SAMEER reserves the right to cancel/ restrict/ enlarge the recruitment process, if the need so arises, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason therefore.
- Selected candidates can be posted / transferred, at any time to any of the units of SAMEER/Project sites in India. However selected candidates will be necessarily required to serve SAMEER, Chennai for a minimum period of five years, during which period request for transfer to any other unit of SAMEER will not be entertained.
- Candidates presently employed in Central/ State Government, Autonomous bodies, PSUs may apply through ‘Proper Channel’ or submit ‘No-Objection Certificate’ with their Application.
- Candidates selected will be on probation for one year and will be absorbed in regular post depending on their performance during probation.
- Candidates applying for Scientist-B post may furnish marks scored in each semester /year examination, as applicable and provide the aggregate of all semesters/years of the B.E./B.Tech degree course. Candidates with 5 years Dual Degree Course may furnish marks scored in each semester /year examination, as applicable in their case and provide the aggregate of all semesters/years. Candidates with qualification equivalent to B.E./B.Tech like AMIE/Grad IETE may fill in their Section A and Section B percentage at I SEM/YR and II SEM/YR respectively and furnish the aggregate of the same.
